The Mostepe Foundation is always proud to see its bursary recipients embark on a new chapter in their life. Once they’re armed with the best education they can determine the course of their own careers. Early in the year, Cape Peninsula University of Technology’s (CPUT) Faculty of Education honored graduates who completed their four-year higher education degrees.
These graduates were the recipients of the Motsepe Foundation’s scholarship programme. Ten other students are currently studying at the university, with the aid of the Foundation’s scholarship fund.
CPUT’s Chancellor, Trevor Manuel appeared especially proud to see yet another generation of students graduate from the university.
In her speech, Dr Precious Moloi-Motsepe advised the graduates on the importance of making the same difference they received, by paying it forward in education. One graduate, in particular, has already begun to pay it forward as a teacher at his former high school in Mitchell’s Plain – Courtney Edwards. We trust that he, and his fellow graduates will become the difference they hope to see in their own communities.
